Abdullah Bayındır completed his undergraduate studies in 2009 at the Department of History, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Gaziantep University. In 2010, he began his master’s studies at the Institute of Social Sciences, Department of General Turkish History, at the same university, and completed his degree with a thesis entitled “The Transcription and Evaluation of the Work ‘Piyade Sınıfına Mahsus Dâhiliyye ve Seferiyyeden Mevâdd-i Mücmeleyi Hâvî Ma‘lûmât ve Terbiye-i Askeriyye’.”
In 2013, Bayındır enrolled in the doctoral program in the Department of Medieval History at the Institute of Social Sciences, Gaziantep University, and earned his PhD in 2017 with his dissertation entitled “Succession Struggles in the Seljuk State.”
Since 2019, he has been serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of History, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, at Kilis 7 Aralık University. His research interests include Seljuk history, Medieval Turkish-Islamic history, and the military organization of the Ottoman Empire.
Bayındır has published numerous academic articles. His books include:
Succession Struggles in the Seljuk State;
The Training of Infantry Soldiers in the Ottoman Empire;
Marksmanship Training in Ottoman Infantry Education.
He is also the Editor-in-Chief of the academic journal Asia Minor Studies, which is published in the field of social sciences. Dr. Abdullah Bayındır is currently continuing his academic work at Kilis 7 Aralık University.

Mehmet Biçici is an Associate Professor in the Department of History, Division of the History of the Republic of Türkiye, at Gaziantep University Faculty of Arts and Sciences. He completed his undergraduate studies in the Department of History at Ege University. He received his M.A. from Afyon Kocatepe University and earned his Ph.D. in History from the Institute of Social Sciences at Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam University.

Since 1994, Dr. Biçici has pursued an active academic career, serving for many years as a lecturer and faculty member at Afyon Kocatepe University and Gaziantep University. He was awarded the title of Associate Professor in 2020.

His academic research primarily focuses on the History of the Republic of Türkiye, Turkish political life, nationalism, the Turkish War of Independence, and regional history studies. He has published numerous national and international articles, books, and book chapters. His scholarly contributions particularly address Republican-era political structures, members of parliament, migration, security, identity, and processes of social transformation.

In addition to leading various scientific research projects, Dr. Biçici has supervised numerous master's and doctoral theses, contributing to the training of new academic scholars. He has also held several administrative positions within Gaziantep University. His research approach combines rigorous historical analysis with a broader perspective on social transformation.

1975 yılında Osmaniye’de doğdu. 1999 yılında Muğla Sıtkı Koçman Üniversitesi, Çağdaş Türk Lehçeleri ve Edebiyatları Bölümü’nden lisans derecesini aldı ve aynı yıl Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı bünyesinde öğretmenliğe başladı. 2005 yılında Gaziantep Üniversitesi, Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü’den yüksek lisans; 2014 yılında Fırat Üniversitesi, Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü’nden de doktora derecelerini aldı. 2011 yılında Gaziantep Üniversitesi’ne öğretim görevlisi olarak atandı. 2014-2015 yılları arasında bir yıl süreyle Rusya Federasyonu, Nijniy Novgorod Devlet Dilbilim Üniversitesi, Türk Kültür Merkezi’nde ve 2016-2021 yılları arasında dört yıl süreyle Ukrayna, Kharhiv Milli Pedagoji Üniversitesi Türk Kültür Merkezi’nde Türkçe ve Türk Kültürü, Türk Edebiyatı konularında lisans ve yüksek lisans dersleri verdi. Tataristan ve Kırgızistan’da da çalışmalar gerçekleştiren Alibekiroğlu, halen, Gaziantep Üniversitesi, Fen-Edebiyat Fakültesi, Türk Dili ve Edebiyatı Bölümü'nde görev yapmaktadır.

The Yedi Aralık Journal of Social Sciences Research (YASAD) is a peer-reviewed journal that aims to present original and high-quality studies in the core fields of social sciences to the academic community. It focuses on publishing interdisciplinary research that evaluates current developments in the social sciences, thereby contributing to the academic literature. Additionally, the journal aspires to provide new opportunities for scholars contributing to scientific advancement, foster contributions to global culture at an academic level, and support the dissemination of scientific knowledge.

YASAD is published biannually, in December and June. The journal’s scope includes various disciplines within the social sciences, such as History, Literature, Geography, Philosophy, Sociology, and Psychology. Articles are accepted in Turkish, English, and Arabic, and submissions in Persian are also considered for evaluation.

• General Format and Page Layout
• The page structure of the articles to be sent to the journal should be such that there are 2.5 cm from the top, 2.5 cm from the bottom, 2.5 cm from the right, and 2.5 cm from the left.
• Articles should consist of at least 3500 words and maximum 10,000 words (maximum 25 pages).
• In Microsoft Word, Times New Roman should be 12 points, justified, paragraph spaces should be 6 pt up and below the page, and line space should be single. Paragraphs should be indented 1.25 cm at the beginning.
• Abstract / Abstract headings should be centered and the body text should be 10 points.
• Up and below 6 pt, lines should be single space. Keywords up and below 0 pt. Line space should be prepared in a single form.
• An extended English summary of the article should be added to the articles written in Turkish. Extended abstract should be between 750-1000 words and include all general chapter titles. Section titles should not be used in the English abstract.
• All spelling features not limited herein should be arranged in accordance with the APA.7 edition.

The title of the article should be 14 points, bold and centered. Turkish and English titles should be written one after the other, with the first letter of each word capitalized, and the name of the author should be in Times New Roman 12 points.
• Author information * with a special mark at the bottom of the page as a footnote Title, institution name (University/Faculty/Department Information), e-mail address, ORCID information (this information should not be present when the article is first sent)
• The abstract in Turkish/English should fully express the purpose of the article and should contain at least 100 and maximum 250 words.
• Keywords: Only the first letter is capitalized, maximum 8 words using a comma between each word (0 pt. before-after).
• Keywords: A maximum of 8 words should be started with a comma between each word, including the first letter, excluding the proper name, and no punctuation marks should be used after the last keyword.
Citation and Bibliography
The reference list should be labeled “References” in capital letters and centered. In each bibliography, the first line is left aligned, the next line indented 0.5 inch.
References to the author or authors in the text should be as stated below.
** When citing in the text and when citing works with 3 or more authors, the first author should be given, followed by et al.

BOOKS
• The author of the book, the year of publication, the title of the book (in italics and lowercase letters) should be given.
• Publication information should be added in parentheses after the title, without italics.
In the 7th edition of APA, the place of publication information has been removed when naming the books in the bibliography.
• If both books and book chapters have a DOI, a DOI should be added in the bibliography after the publisher's name. If there is no DOI but a fixed URL, the URL of the book/chapter should be added to the reference.
• The database should not be included in the reference.
• The & sign should be used instead of “and” or “and” in parenthetical citations and bibliography.
Single-Author Studies
• Just after the citation, the surname of the author, the year of publication of the work/study and the page number should be given in parentheses, respectively, using a comma between them.
• The dot mark indicating the completion of the sentence should be placed after the parenthesis.
• References to the narrative method and to the whole book do not include page numbers.

Two-Author Studies
• “&” sign is used when linking with the surnames and conjunctions of the authors in parenthetical citations and bibliography. Outside the parenthesis, “and” or “and” is used.
In Text:

Quote in parentheses: (Atalay & Mortan, 2011), (Page & Stritzke, 2015).

Works with Three or More Authors
• When citing studies with three or more authors, in-text citation according to APA 7th edition should now be abbreviated from the first citation. Accordingly, only the surname of the first author and “et al.” statement should be added. In the works written in English, the Latin abbreviation of the expression "et al." should be added.
• In Turkish references/citations made with the narration method outside the parenthesis, “et al.” instead of “et al.” expression is used.
• For works with 20 or more authors (including the 20th author) in the bibliography in APA 7th Edition, the names of all authors must be included. However, if the number of authors is more than 21, the names of the first 19 authors and the last author should be listed.

appendices
• Scale, document, picture, etc., which have an important function in making the research understandable. can be given in addition.
• The scale developed in the scale development articles should be given in the Appendices.
• Numbering of the annexes: The annexes should be given sequentially by using the chapter number first.
• Naming the attachment: At the top of the page, Times New Roman, justified to the right, bold, 10 pt, First letter of each word capitalized, 6 pt spacing before and after, single line spacing.
• Ethics committee approval should be added as an appendix.

Ethics Committee Permission
• In the article, it should be stated whether the approval of the Ethics Committee and/or legal/special permission is required.
• In case reports, information about signing the informed consent/consent form should be included in the article. Copyright regulations for intellectual and artistic works must be complied with and it must be stated in the article that they are complied with.

Similarity Report

The similarity report of candidate articles should be at most 20%.

AUTHOR GUIDELINES 

Ethical Principles and Publication Policy
Yedi Aralik Social Sciences Research is a journal published in accordance with the ethical principles and rules stated below in order to publish qualified scientific articles in the field of social sciences.
1. Publication Ethics
1.1. All articles submitted to the journal must not have been published anywhere before and not be in any evaluation process in another journal. If the article sent for publication is a paper that was previously presented in a scientific meeting, the journal editor should be informed of this situation. These and similar articles will be processed in line with the decision of the editorial board. All responsibility of the published works that are in the evaluation process belongs to the author(s).
1.2. Blind refereeing system is applied in the journal and the names of the referees and authors are kept confidential throughout the refereeing process.
1.3. Each article is double-blindly evaluated by one of the editors and at least two referees. Plagiarism, copyright infringement, false authorship/denied authorship, research/data fabrication, article slicing, slicing, hiding copyright infringement and conflict of interest, and revealing the double-blind peer-review process are considered unethical behaviors. All articles that do not comply with accepted ethical standards are removed from the publication. This includes articles with possible irregularities and inconsistencies detected after publication.
1.4. Studies submitted to the journal; questionnaire, interview, focus group study, experiment, etc. from people. It is obligatory to obtain an "Ethics Committee Approval Certificate" from the Human Research Ethics Committee of the relevant institution before the application, if it envisages the collection of data in different ways and for experimental or other scientific purposes.
1.5. Since this journal adheres to the principle of open and free academic publishing, article processing and submission fees are not charged to the authors.
2. Publisher's Ethical Responsibilities
Kilis 7 Aralik University, which is the publisher of Yedi Aralık Social Sciences Research Journal, is a non-profit public education institution that observes the public interest. The Editorial Board of the journal consists of faculty members and staff of our university. The members of the Editorial Board consist of the Editor, Assistant Editors and Field Editors. These members are appointed for three years by considering the branches of social sciences. A new member is appointed to replace the member who left, and the term of the member whose term of office has expired may be extended. The editor determines the field editors from the members of the editorial board. In addition, according to the subject of the article, faculty members who are not members of the Editorial Board can be appointed as field editors when necessary.
3. Ethical Responsibilities of the Editorial Board
3.1. While deciding whether to publish the articles, the editors pay attention to the originality of the articles in order to contribute to the scientific literature.
3.2. Editors take into consideration the original value of the articles, their contribution to the field, the validity and reliability of the research method, the clarity of the narrative, and the purpose and scope of the journal when making a positive or negative decision about the articles.
3.3. Editors send the articles by taking into consideration the field of expertise of the editors and the referees, and support the impartial and independent evaluations.
3.4. Editors look for a wide range of referee pools and to be constantly updated.
3.5. Editors block academic etiquette and unscientific reviews.
3.6. Editors; They ensure that the journal publication processes are operated in accordance with publication policies and guidelines, inform those in charge of the developments in publication policies, and prepare a training program when necessary.
3.7. Editors; They pay attention to the protection of human and animal rights in their articles, they care about documenting the explicit consent of the participants of the article, they reject the article when they do not have the approval of the ethics committee for the participants of the article, and permission for experimental research.
3.8. Editors; take action against misconduct. When there are complaints about misconduct, he makes an objective investigation and shares the relevant findings.
3.9. Editors ensure that errors, inconsistencies or misdirections in articles are corrected.
3.10. Editors protect the intellectual property rights of the published articles and defend the rights of the journal and the author(s) in case of violation. In addition, they take the necessary measures to ensure that the content of the published articles does not violate the intellectual property rights of other publications; They perform the authenticity-similarity check.
4. Ethical Responsibilities of Referees
4.1. Referees cannot contact the authors directly, necessary contacts should be made through the editors.
4.2. Each reviewer may agree to evaluate only articles related to his/her field of expertise.
4.3. Referees should perform their evaluations objectively and impartially. Ethnicity, religious beliefs, political attitudes and gender differences of the authors should not affect their evaluations.
4.4. Referees must complete the article evaluation process within the time specified for them and explain the result of acceptance or rejection in accordance with academic etiquette.
5. Ethical Responsibilities of Authors
5.1. The authors do not make misleading, incorrect or incomplete statements during the application process and declare the accuracy of any information they provide.
5.2. Authors should not have published the whole, part or data of the study they applied to in another journal before, and the data should be original.
5.3. Authors should not simultaneously submit their submitted work to another journal.
5.4. If the studies they apply for include a research that requires an "Ethics Committee Approval Certificate", the authors should have obtained the relevant document before starting the research and submitted it to the journal management.
5.5. If the authors need to get permission from any institution related to their research, they should provide the necessary information to the institution in question in a complete and non-misleading manner and obtain the written approval of the institution before starting the research.
5.6. Authors should obtain informed consent/acceptance/consent form from the participants before the research. The form should contain information about how the research process will work, the purpose and duration of the research, the possible risks or other negative situations that the research may involve, confidentiality and volunteerism issues so as not to adversely affect the research process.
5.7. In applications with more than one author, all authors must agree on issues such as authorship order. In addition, people who did not contribute to the study scientifically should not be cited as authors for whatever purpose or reason.
5.8. After the application is made, no request should be made to the journal for changes in authorship, for processes such as adding or removing authors.
5.9. If the authors realize that there are inaccuracies or errors in the data and results of the studies they apply to, they should notify the editor and take necessary actions, including withdrawing the application or accepting the rejection by the editor for this reason.
5.10. Authors are responsible for keeping the data of their work. If necessary, the Editorial Board may request the data from the authors within the scope of the evaluation process.
5.11. Authors should be mindful of possible plagiarism. Authors should not present someone else's article as their own, they should definitely include the resources they use in the bibliography section and give appropriate references to these resources in the text. On the other hand, authors should not refer to sources they have not used in their studies or should not include them in the bibliography.
5.12. Auth ors should act in accordance with the citation/citing rules, and avoid self-plagiarism if they include their own work (including thesis) that has been previously published elsewhere, in their submitted work.
5.13. Authors should avoid “slicing”. Slicing is in the YÖK Scientific Research and Publication Ethics Directive: “To present the results of a research as separate works in the evaluations of associate professorship exams and academic promotions by inappropriately dividing the results of the research into parts and making numerous publications without citing each other.” has been defined as.
5.14. Authors are responsible for duplication, fabrication, forgery, distortion, republishing, etc. ethical violations should be avoided. In such cases, the responsibility belongs to the author.
5.15. Authors must notify the journal/editor if there is any conflict of interest regarding the work they are applying for.
5.16. If the authors use a tool that does not belong to them in their work, they should obtain permission from the owner of the work and should be able to present this permission when necessary.
5.17. Authors should be responsible for the copyright regulations of any work they include in the work they apply for.
5.18. Authors are required to indicate if they have received financial support for the realization, authorship or publication of the study.
5.19. The authors should report that the processes that the participants or animal subjects in their studies were exposed to were carried out in accordance with national and international criteria.

The articles received are published free of charge. No fee is charged at any stage of the manuscript process.

Salim Çonoğlu; 18 Haziran 1970 Samsun/Havza doğumludur. İlk, orta ve lise öğrenimini Havza’da tamamladı. 1989 yılında girdiği Atatürk Üniversitesi Fen-Edebiyat Fakültesi Türk Dili ve Edebiyatı Bölümü’nden 1993 yılında mezun oldu. 1994 yılında Balıkesir Üniversitesi Necatibey Eğitim Fakültesi Türk Dili ve Edebiyatı Eğitimi Bölümü’ne Araştırma Görevlisi olarak atandı. 1996 yılında yüksek lisans eğitimini bitirmesinin ardından, Hacettepe Üniversitesi’nde başladığı doktora çalışmasını, 2000 yılında tamamladı. Nisan 2010’da doçent olan yazar, halen Balıkesir Üniversitesi Fen-Edebiyat Fakültesi Türk Dili ve Edebiyatı Bölümü Yeni Türk Edebiyatı Anabilim Dalı’nda öğretim üyesi olarak görev yapmaktadır. Salim Çonoğlu’nun inceleme/çözümleme alanında kitapları vardır. Türk Dili, Türk Edebiyatı, Türkbilig, Kardeş Kalemler, Bilig gibi akademik ve kültürel dergilerde Türk Edebiyatı ve Türk Dünyası Edebiyatları hakkında roman ve şiir incelemeleri yayınlanmıştır.
