Diabetes Mellitus and Intensive Care Patients

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is the most commonly encoun- tered endocrinopathy among general population and critically ill patients. Glucose dysregulation and carbohydrate intolerance seen in this disease frequently results in acute and long-term systemic sequelae necessitating critical care. For this rea- son, effective and efficient management is the responsibility of the multidisciplinary team. In this article, treatment and nursing care of patients with diabetes in the intensive care units according to clinical guidelines are discussed

Diyabet ve Yoğun Bakım Hastası

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus genel toplumda ve yoğun bakım hastalarında en sık görülen endokrin problemlerin başında gelmektedir. Bu hastalıkta glikoz regülasyonunda bozulma ve karbonhidrat intoleransı sıklıkla uzun dönem sistemik ve akut bakımı gerekli kılmaktadır. Bu nedenle etkili ve etkinlikli yönetim multidisipliner eki- bin sorumluluğundadır. Bu makalede, yoğun bakımda yatan diyabetli bireylerin klinik rehberler doğrultusunda bakım ve tedavisi tartışılmıştır
