Abstract
Objective: The aim of this study is the Evaluation of Relationship Between Job Satisfaction and Perceptions Relating to Working Environment of intensive care nurses. Methods: This descriptive study was carried out who accepted to participate in the study. Sample of the study is nurses working in medical and surgical intensive care unit of a university hospital. Population of this study is ninety-eight intensive care nurses who work in intensive care units. Data collected by “the form of determining socio-demographic features of nurses” which was developed by the researchers ,“Minnesota Job Satisfaction Scale” and “"Nursing Work Index-The Practice Work Environment Scale". "Nursing Work Index-The Practice Work Environment Scale" developed by Lake. Data collected from the study was analyzed using percent, mean scores, t test, One-way variance analysis and pearson corelation analysis.Results: Minnesota Job Satisfaction Scale mean score 2,91±0,53 Nursing Work Index-The Practice Work Environment Scale mean score 2.15±0.35. The mean evaluation score of 1-4 points scale seems to be low. Conclusion: Participants' job satisfaction and work environment perception were low . Working environment affects the employees' job satisfaction level. Therefore, studies should be conducted on the creation of a positive work environment.
