AMNIOTIC FLUİD EMBOLISM AND CARE

Abstract

Intensive care units equipped with advanced technology, requiring special care for each patient; acute and chronic, organ failure is the unit that provides treatment and monitoring in case. Amniotic fluid embolism (AFE) is one of the emergency obstetric cases that require intensive care because of its sudden development and frequent lethality. The aim of this review to examine  pathophysiology, risk factors, clinical findings, diagnosis, treatment and care in AFE.

Öz

İleri teknoloji ile donatılan, özel bakım gerektiren her hasta için uygun bakımın verildiği yoğun bakım üniteleri; akut ve kronik olarak ortaya çıkan, organ yetmezlikleri durumunda tedavi ve izlem yapılmasını sağlayan birimlerdir. Amniyotik sıvı embolisi (ASE) de nadir görülen fakat ani gelişmesi ve sıklıkla ölümcül olması nedeniyle yoğun bakım gerektiren acil obstetrik durumlardan biridir. Bu derlemenin amacı; ASE’nin patofizyolojisi, risk faktörleri, klinik bulguları, tanı, tedavi ve bakımını incelemektir.
