Abstract

Son yıllarda, geleneksel koroner arter bypass greft (KABG) cerrahisine alternatif olarak geliştiri- len ve umut veren bir yöntem olarak kabul edilen minimal invaziv direkt koroner arter bypass (MİD- KAB) cerrahisi, maliyetin, hastanede yatış süresi- nin ve morbidite oranının düşürülmesi açısından olumlu yanlarıyla gündeme gelmiştir. Kalp cerrahi- sindeki son ilerlemeler, ameliyat sonrası hemşire- lik bakımını ve hasta eğitimini yeniden inceleme gereğini ortaya koymaktadır. Hemşireler, MİDKAB ve KABG ayrımı konusunda kendilerini bilinçlendi- rerek hastaların istenilir düzeyde iyileşmelerine katkıda bulunabilirler. Bu yazıda, MİDKAB sonra- sı hemşirelik bakımı ve hasta eğitimi ele alındı

Postoperative Nursing Care and Patient Education following Minimally Invasive Direct Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery

Abstract

Minimally invasive direct coronary artery bypass (MIDCAB) surgery has been introduced as an alternative to traditional coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery in recent years, offering decreased cost, length of hospitalization, and morbidity. Moreover, recent modifications in cardiac surgical techniques necessitate to better evaluate the role of postoperative nursing care and patient education. Nurses should develop better insight into the differ- ences between MIDCAB and CABG to contribute to the uneventful recovery of patients undergoing MIDCAB. The aim of this article is to revisit nurs- ing roles in postoperative care and patient educa- tion following MIDCAB surgery
