In the fall of 2025, as the televised genocide in Gaza was already “normalized”, I struggled with questions such as what could be done beyond our individual efforts; why the topic was not being adequately discussed within the intellectual community in Turkey; and how the tragic history reached the point of a massacre. Around the same time, a series of interesting developments unfolded at ANAMED. An international project we had been working on for several years was cancelled, and without knowing the situation Prof. Çelik drew our attention to the possibility of including “Palestine from Above," in the ANAMED exhibition program. These developments led us, as the ANAMED team, to begin preparations for an exhibition set to open four months later.
