IMAGES IN THE POETRY OF SEZAİ KARAKOÇ

Abstract

Image and the notion of imagism especially in the İkinci Yeni period is perceived as a “style” all on its own. Nevertheless, imagistic style, beyond thematic and semiologic approaches, is a consistent process of recognizing and identifying the poet because of the fact that it provides data devoted to conscious perception. Thus, it is essential to touch on the process of images during analyzing a poem. Indeed, Sezai Karakoç, who has a special characteristics in the İkinci Yeni poetry, is also an imagist poet. However, the poet’s relation to tradition nesseciates us to evaluate his imagistic approach from a different point of view. Karakoç’s poetry includes common images as many modern poet’s poems do. This article tries to mention which differences the poet has in his poetic common image degrees.

SEZAİ KARAKOÇ’UN ŞİİRİNDE İMGELER

Abstract

Türk şiirinde imge ve imgecilik anlayışı, özellikle İkinci Yeni sürecinde başlı başına bir tavır olarak algılanmaktadır. Oysa imgeci tavır, tematik ve göstergebilimsel yaklaşımların ötesinde daha çok bilinç algılarına yönelik veriler sağlaması sebebiyle şairi tanıma ve tanımlamada tutarlılık gösteren bir süreçtir. Dolayısıyla bir şiirin analizinde imge süreçlerine değinilmesi zorunludur. İkinci Yeni şiiri içinde kendine özgü nitelikleri olan Sezai Karakoç da imgeci bir şairdir. Ancak şairin gelenekle olan bağıntısı, onun imgeci yaklaşımına farklı bir gözle bakmamızı zorunlu kılmaktadır. Çoğu modern şairde olduğu gibi Karakoç’un şiirlerinde de dönemin ortak imgeleri yer almaktadır. Bu çalışma, şairin ortak imge düzeylerinde hangi farklılıklara sahip olduğunu açıklamaktadır.
