THE STORY OF THE TRADITION OF DURALİ YILMAZ
Abstract
Tradition, usually defined as the sum of material and spiritual values continuing from the past to the present, embodies in modern Turkish literature in the sence of using classical and folkloric literature materials. In novels and stories as well as poems, traditional material has been used by the authors. In the 1960's a new style of story writing emerges, which is called noe-traditionalism. Authors of that style emphasizes ensuality, faith and nativity as opposedt o modernism. Durali Yılmaz, a representative of the neo-traditionalistic style, points aut religious values and "Anatolian culture" as references to the people whom he believes are parting from traditional identities. In this study, traditionalist elements in the stories of Durali Yılmaz are analysed along with the concept of tradition.
