Abstract
In a narrative, there is a hidden world view that usually focuses on good and bad, rightful and wrongful, fair and unfair, life and dead etc. in a narrator’s story. People other than the narrator represent either this or that value in a narrative. Therefore, a narrative is the world of values. Vincent Jouve’s book entitled Poétique des Valeurs (The Poetic of Values) represents the typing of methods that a literary text creates and builds its values. V. Jouve, who benefits from literary semiotics as much as reception theory in analysing of transforming values into a literary text. V. Jouve grounds his work on André Malraux’s novel entitled Man’s Estate and proposes a model that explains how a value or ideology can be questioned in a literary text. In this article, we provide a summary of subheadings that V. Jouve proposes in his model to question values in his work. We just repeat the most known aspects of examples that respond to definitions given here. Our objective has a didactic approach and aims no more than to remind basic hints that one should consider in value analysis.
