Yüksek İhtisas University Journal of Health Sciences (YIU Saglik Bil Derg), which started publishing in 2020, is a scientific, open-access, printed and online periodical published in accordance with the principles of independent, impartial and double-blind refereeing. Yuksek Ihtisas University Journal of Health Sciences aims to serve academicians with the privilege of being the journal of our country's first health concept university. The journal is the scientific publication of Yüksek İhtisas University, published quarterly in April, August and December.

Yuksek Ihtisas University Health Sciences Journal is published for clinical researchers, medical/health professionals, students, nursing professionals, and relevant professional and academic institutions and organizations at national and international levels. The journal publishes original research articles, reviews, case reports, technical reports and expert opinions in the field of health sciences in English and Turkish. Yüksek Ihtisas University Journal of Health Sciences is a peer-reviewed journal and complies with the highest ethical and editorial standards. Yüksek İhtisas University Journal of Health Sciences is indexed by EBSCOhost, Turkey Citation Index, Turkish Medline.

The journal's editorial and publication processes are carried out by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), World Association of Medical Editors (WAME), Council of Science Editors (CSE), Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), European Association of Science Editors (EASE) and National Association of Science Editors (EASE). It is formatted in accordance with Information Standards Organization (NISO) guidelines.
The editorial and publication processes of the Journal of Health Science Yuksek Ihtisas University are carried out in accordance with the principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Academic Publishing (doaj.org/bestpractice). It supports the editors' policy approved by the Managers Association. The journal fully complies with the Required Standards for Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journals published by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (Updated December 2019 - http://www.icmje.org/icmjerecommendations). Articles must be sent electronically. Articles must be submitted as a Word document (.doc) or rich text format (.rtf). At the beginning of each article, the title, abstract and keywords arranged according to "medline" rules should be written in Turkish and English. All authors who will contact us for the article must have the necessary contact information. All figures, tables and additional documents deemed necessary should also be sent to the same address. Authors must also attach the form signed by the responsible author, stating the Copyright Transfer and Financial Status and declaring the originality of the article, to the submissions through the same system.
Preparation of Manuscripts
Manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Health Science Yuksek Ihtisas University must be prepared according to the standards set by ICMJE for biomedical journals. When submitting the article, authors must specify the type of experiment/research and statistical applications must comply with the "Guidelines for statistical reporting in articles for medical journals: amplifications and explanations" (Bailar JC III, Mosteller F, Ann Intern Med 1988; 108:266-73). . In the cover letter sent with the article, it should be stated whether any part of the information in the article has been previously published, including electronically, or whether it has been sent for evaluation. It should be stated whether an ethics committee decision was taken for the study or whether the Declaration of Helsinki regarding human experiments, updated in 2018, was complied with, otherwise it should be explained. The cover letter should include the address, phone number, fax number and e-mail address of the author to be contacted. All applications are scanned by similarity detection software (iThenticate by CrossCheck).
The Editorial Board will act in accordance with COPE rules in the face of allegations and suspicions of plagiarism, citation manipulation and data forgery regarding the studies submitted to our journal. Everyone listed as an author must meet the authorship criteria recommended by the ICMJE (www.icmje.org). The ICMJE recommends that authors meet the following four criteria:
1. Concept/design of the study; or have made a significant contribution to the collection, analysis and interpretation of data for the study;
2. Having drafted the article or made critical reviews of important intellectual content.
3. To have reviewed and approved the final version of the article before publication.
4. Agree to be responsible for all aspects of the work to ensure that questions regarding the validity and accuracy of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and resolved.
In addition to taking responsibility for the parts of the work that an author contributed to, he or she must also be able to identify which parts of the work other authors are responsible for. Additionally, authors must have confidence in the integrity of each other's contributions.
Article Features
Research Paper
The main text of the research article should include the subheadings "Introduction", "Material and Method", "Findings" and "Conclusion".
Summary: Summary of research articles should consist of Introduction, Materials and Methods, Findings and Conclusion sections. It should convey the content of the study and the basis on which the study is based, and state the aims, main findings and main results of the study. It should also highlight new and important aspects of the study and observations.
Keywords: They should be given under the abstract section and there should be a maximum of six. Care should be taken to choose the keywords from Turkish Science Terms (http://www.bilimterimleri.com). Introduction: In the introduction section, state why you need to do this study and your purpose by referring only to important articles.
Materials and Methods: In the Materials and Methods section, describe your plan, patients, experimental animals, materials and controls, the study methods you used and the statistical method you applied. Indicate permissions related to ethical issues, specify the generic names of the drugs, as well as the manufacturer's name and the country of production.
Findings: In the findings, please state in detail your findings supported by statistical methods. Highlight only your most important findings; Do not compare your findings with other studies in this section. Such comparisons should be reserved for the discussion section. Figures and tables should support the findings given in the text and not repeat them; data as text, table or figure
It is sufficient to show only one of the presentations.
Discussion/Conclusion: Emphasize the importance and difference of your findings, but do not repeat the details presented in the conclusion section. Limit your opinions to only those supported by the facts you have found in your study, and do not add assumptions to the discussion that you have not researched or cannot demonstrate. Compare your findings with other studies. New data that is not mentioned in the findings section should not be presented in this section.
References
• References should be included in the references list with Arabic numbers and in the same order as in the text.
• Source citations in the text should be given at the end of sentences and in parentheses.
• Prepare the references in accordance with the “Required Standards for Articles Submitted to Biomedical Journals” (updated in December 2019-http://www.icmje.org/icmjerecommendations).
• Journal source writing style is NLM (National Library of Medicine) style.
In the references, all authors should be written; if the number of authors is more than six, the following should be abbreviated as “et al” (https://www.nlm.nih.gov/bsd/policy/cit_format.html).
• Journal abbreviations should be written in accordance with “MEDLINE”.

Tables and Figures
All tables and figures should be able to be opened under “Windows”. The resolution quality of the images sent online must be at least 300 dpi (10x10 cm in size) and in jpg format. Each table and figure should be presented on a separate page. All tables and figures should be indicated with Arabic numbers. The title of each table should indicate the content and purpose of the table. Each figure should have a caption explaining the signs and symbols on it.
Review Articles
Reviews prepared by authors with potential expertise in a particular field are welcomed. Reviews should describe, discuss, evaluate the current level of knowledge of a topic in clinical practice, and guide future studies. Subheadings of review articles should be planned by the authors. However, each review article must contain an “Introduction” and a “Conclusion” section. Please see Table 1 for limitations of Review Articles.
Case Report
Interesting and instructive presentations can be published in which a very rare, new finding or a new association is described, which presents difficulties in diagnosis and treatment, or a new treatment method is applied. These articles should include the subheadings “Introduction”, “Case Report” and “Discussion”. Word count limits for Case Reports are in Table 1.
Letter to the Editor
Referees who are experts on the subject of an article published in the journal or who have evaluated the article can express their opinions or comments through a Letter to the Editor. Accepted Letters are sent to the author of the article they are about before they are published, and they are asked if they would like to provide additional comments or respond. Whenever possible, such articles are published together with the responses of the authors of the relevant article.
Revisions
Revisions requests and criticisms are sent to the author whose contact address is specified. Requested revisions must be responded to as soon as possible to avoid delays in printing. Revisions must be returned with answers within 15 days at the latest. The editor reserves the right to reject the article for revisions after 15 days. Responses to all referees' opinions should be written and the page numbers and line order of the revisions made should be stated. A copy with all the changes made in bold above the text and a clean copy of the final version after the revisions have been made should be sent together. Authors are responsible for the accuracy of the sources and data presented. If the existence of incorrect, deceptive or misleading information is noticed, the Editor has the right to withdraw the article from the scientific literature and announce this.

All articles are evaluated by the scientific committee in terms of their scientific contribution, originality and content. Authors are responsible for the accuracy of the data. The journal reserves the right to make appropriate corrections regarding language and spelling where it deems necessary. Articles can be sent back to the corresponding author for revision when deemed necessary. The articles published in the journal become the property of the journal and the copyright of the articles is acquired in the name of the Journal of Health Science Yuksek Ihtisas University. Articles previously published in any language are not considered for publication in the journal. Authors cannot send an article they sent to the Journal of Health Science Yuksek Ihtisas University to another journal. Articles must be prepared in accordance with ICMJE-Recommendations for the Conduct, Reporting, Editing and Publication of Scholarly Work in Medical Journals (updated in December 2019 - http://www.icmje.org/icmjerecommendations). Randomized studies should comply with CONSORT, observational studies with STROBE, diagnostic studies with STARD, systematic reviews and meta-analyses with PRISMA, animal studies with ARRIVE, and non-randomized behavioral and public health studies with TREND guidelines.
