Abstract

Marmara Üniversitesi Atatürk E¤itim Fakültesi, E¤itim Bilimleri Bölümü Ö¤retim Üyesi Prof. Dr. Ayflen Bakio¤lu ve Koç Üniversitesi ‹ngilizce Okutman› Dr. Nur S›lay taraf›ndan yaz›lan “Yüksek Ö¤retim ve Ö¤retmen Yetifltirmede Karakter E¤itimi” adl› kitapta karakter e¤itiminin geliflimi, teorik altyap›s›, tan›mlar› ve benzer kavramlarla iliflkisi ele al›nmaktad›r. Karakter e¤itiminin ilk, orta ve yüksek ö¤retimdeki ve ö¤retmen e¤itimindeki öneminin vurguland›¤› kitap, öncelikle yüksek ö¤retimde görev yapan ö¤retim kadrosuna ve e¤itimle ilgili karar vericilere hitap ediyor. ‹lk ve ortaö¤retimde görevli e¤itimciler ve anne babalar›n da istifade edebilecekleri kitapta, günümüzde yaflanan bireysel ve toplumsal s›k›nt›lar sonucunda toplumdaki tüm
kesimlerin beklentisinin geçmiflte oldu¤u gibi bireylerin sadece biliflsel olarak de¤il bir bütün olarak e¤itilmesi yönünde oldu¤u belirtiliyor. Bu noktada, yazarlar okullarda yeterince yer
almayan karakter e¤itimi, ahlak e¤itimi, de¤erler e¤itimi, din e¤itimi ve vatandafll›k e¤itimine duyulan ihtiyac› evrensel örneklerle sunuyorlar.
