Chemical Variation on the Essential Oil of Thymus fedtschenkoi (Ronniger)

Year 2018, Volume: 28 Issue: 3, 325 - 330, 28.09.2018

Abstract

The genus Thymus belongs to
family Lamiaceae. It is perennial, aromatic herbs and subshrubs.
The rate and main components of essential oil
from aerial parts of
Thymus fedtschenkoi (Ronniger) were
investigated in this study. Samples of the
T. fedtschenkoi were collected from five altitudinal populations at Easthern part
of Turkey (Van) at flowering stage from natural habitats. Samples were collected
from five different locations and the essential oils isolated by hydro distillation
from the aerial parts were analysed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry
(GC-MS). After quantified the essential oils, Thymol, 1,8-Cineole, Linalool and
Thymene were found to be major constituent. The amount of Linalool,
1,8-Cineole, Thymol, and Thymene ranged from 50.08-73%, 5.39-23.53%, 19.13-27.81%
and 10.48-16.22%, respectively. The results obtained from this study contributed
to determine the chemical structure as well as the quality of consumption of
the Thymus fedtschenkoi (Ronniger) plants
for the study area.

Thymus fedtschenkoi (Ronniger) Uçucu Yağındaki Kimyasal Varyasyon

Year 2018, Volume: 28 Issue: 3, 325 - 330, 28.09.2018

Abstract

Thymus
fedtschenkoi
bitkisine ait örnekler
Doğu Anadolu Bölgesi’ndeki Van ili çevresinde beş farklı lokasyondan
bitkinin çiçeklenme evresinde doğal ortamından elde edilmiştir. Elde edilen
örneklerdeki uçucu yağlar su buharı distilasyonu yöntemi kullanılarak bitkinin
toprak üstü organlarından elde edilmiş ve elde edilen uçucu yağlar gaz
kromotogrofisi-kütle spektroskopisi (GC-MS) cihazı ile analiz edilmiştir.
Yapılan analiz sonucunda uçucu yağların ana bileşenlerinin Thymol, 1,8-Cineole,
Linalool ve Thymene olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır. Bu ana bileşenlerin oranları
ise Linalool (% 50.08-73), 1,8-Cineole (% 5.39-23.53), Thymol (% 19.13-27.81)
ve Thymene (% 10.48-16.22) aralıklarında değişim göstermiştir. Çalışmadan elde
edilen veriler çalışma alanındaki Thymus fedtschenkoi
bitkilerinin kimyasal yapısındaki değişimleri belirleyerek tüketim kalitesini
belirlemeye katkı sağlamıştır.
