Megabakteriozis

Abstract

Megabakteriozis gastrik bir mantar olan Macrorhabdus ornithogaster tarafından oluşturulan, daha
çok Psittaci ve Passerine ailesine ait kuşlar başta olmak üzere çeşitli kanatlı türlerinde görülen bir
infeksiyondur. Hastalık dünyanın birçok bölgesinde bildirilmiş olup, etkenin gelecekte memelilerde
de infeksiyonlara neden olabileceğine dikkat çekilmektedir. Megabakteriozisin teşhisi, ajanın
kültüre edilmesindeki güçlükler nedeniyle daha çok nekropsi, histopatoloji ve PCR yöntemleriyle
yapılmaktadır. Bu derlemede, megabakteriozis ve M. ornithogaster’le ilgili veriler, son gelişmeler
ışığında özetlenmiştir.
