Adnexal torsion in childhood and adolesan period

Abstract

Adnexal torsion, a serious gynecologic emergency, commonly results in loss of reproductive function. Many patients with adnexal torsion can benefit from conservative treatment if early diagnosis is made that based on patients' symptoms, clinical examination, laboratory investigations, and ultrasound scanning. We here presented three patients undergone oophorectomy, and we wanted to accentuate the importance of early diagnosis and treatment in preserving reproductive function.

Abstract

Adneksiyal torsiyon sıklıkla reprodüktif fonksiyona sahip bir organın kaybedilmesiyle sonuçlanan ciddi bir jinekolojik olaydır. Anamnez, klinik, laboratuar ve görüntü yöntemleri bir bütün olarak ele alındığında erken tanı ve konservatif tedavi yöntemlerinin uygulanabilmesi mümkündür. Salpingooferektomi uygulanmış 3 olgu nedeniyle erken tanı ve tedavinin önemini vurgulamayı amaçladık.
