Juvenile dermatomyositis (JDM), the most common of the pediatric inflammatory myopathies, is a systemic vasculopathy with characteristic cutaneous findings and focal areas of myositis resulting in progressive proximal muscle weakness that is responsive to the prompt institution of immunosuppressive therapy. JDM is mostly seen between the ages of 5-14 years of age. Since our case was 16 months, we wanted to consider that JDM may be seen at smaller ages, too.
