Aim & Scope

The Literacy Trek aims to be a leading international platform for scholarship at the intersection of language, education, and literacy. The journal welcomes submissions of original research studies and methodologically rigorous review papers that contribute to a deeper understanding of these fields.

The Literacy Trek welcomes research exploring literacy practices, language use, and linguistic development within the contexts of literacy and foreign language education across a range of formal and informal educational settings.

The Literacy Trek accepts the following submission types:

  • Empirical research articles employing quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-methods designs
  • Systematic reviews

The journal explicitly excludes literature reviews and descriptive reports that do not meet the standards of empirical or systematic research. Topics of particular interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Applied Linguistics
  • Literacy Studies (including multimodal and digital literacies)
  • Linguistics (Corpus linguistics, pragmatics, psycholinguistics, semiotics, sociolinguistics, stylistics)
  • Discourse Studies (including digital discourse)
  • Language Pedagogy
  • Language and Cognition
  • Second Language Studies
  • Methodology in Language Research
  • Educational Linguistics

We especially encourage contributions that bridge theoretical inquiry with practical application and explore the evolving nature of language use across diverse educational and social contexts.
