Exploring Innovative Pedagogies for Enhanced Learning Outcomes in Language Teaching

In today's rapidly evolving educational landscape, the demand for innovative teaching practices is higher than ever before. As scholars, researchers, and professionals, we are constantly in search of novel approaches to engage students, enhance learning outcomes, and address the diverse needs of learners.

This call for paper for the special issue of The Literacy Trek Journal, titled “Exploring Innovative Pedagogies for Enhanced Learning Outcomes in Language Teaching”, aims to cutting-edge research, and innovative pedagogies that extend the boundaries of traditional language teaching methodologies to revolutionize the teaching and learning of foreign languages across diverse settings. We welcome contributions from scholars and practitioners in the field of language education to share their innovative approaches, case study insights, research outcomes, and transformative practices in language teaching across various educational levels.


Topics of interest include but are not limited to:

  • Technology-Enhanced Language Learning: Integrating emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, virtual reality, and gamification to enrich the learning experience.
  • Multimodal Pedagogies: Examining the use of various modes of communication, such as visual, auditory, and kinesthetic methods, to cater to different learning styles and promote deeper understanding in language education.
  • Active Learning Strategies: Implementing action-oriented teaching, flipped classrooms to foster student engagement and participation in language learning.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Exploring innovative assessment methods, online assessment strategies, and self-assessment tools to promote deeper learning and student reflection.
  • Creativity and Critical Thinking: Using Innovative teaching practices to empower students’ creativity and problem-solving skills.

Submission Guidelines:

The articles should specify whether a permit from an ethical committee or legal/special permission is taken. If these approvals are required, they should be presented clearly with the institution, date, and decision or number within the manuscript during submission.

Abstracts should be no more than 250 words and should clearly outline the purpose, innovative aspects of the study, methodology, findings, and implications of the study.
Full papers should be between 5,000 to 8,000 words, including references, tables, and figures, and must adhere to APA 7 formatting guidelines.
All submissions must be original and not under consideration for publication elsewhere.

Special Issue Editors

The Literacy Trek (ISSN 2602-3768) is an open-access, academic journal and publishes high-quality articles in the fields of L1 and LX literacy, applied linguistics, and research that links the two. The journal is of interest to academics, researchers and those people concerned with mediating research findings to policy-makers and practitioners. The journal is a valuable resource for teachers, counselors, supervisors, administrators, policy makers, curriculum planners, and educational researchers who are interested in language and literacy studies.

The Literacy Trek is a biannual journal (published in June and December); Every volume covers a calendar year and the first issue is published in June and the second is published in December.

Currently, the Literacy Trek is under review by ULAKBIM for inclusion to TR DIZIN.  The Literacy Trek is indexed in DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals), ERIH PLUS, MLA Directory of Periodicals, ASOS, and ROAD, and the journal is listed by The International Research Foundation for English Language Education (TIRF)

Note for authors: All authors need to receive "ETHICAL COMMITTEE APPROVAL" or "Institutional Review Board Approval (IRB)" for their articles before submitting to The Literacy Trek.
