After the 1957 parliamentary elections, confrontation trends appeared in the power-opposition relationship. While the opposition parties created a Union of Forces Adnan Menderes, in his speech in the Manisa on 12 October 1958, stated that a Fatherland Front would be established to cover all citizens against the destrucive activities of the opposition and everyone wanted to fall under the Fatherland Front. Following this announcement, Uşak Democratic Party worked effectively with the provincial and district organizations and with the regisnation of the administrators and members coming from the management organizations of opposition parties, there were intense attendance at Uşak DP during 1958-1959. In Uşak, not only opposition parties, but also associations, artisan organizations, Uşak’s prominent families and individual participation, thousands of people became members of the Fatherland Front. Particularly the satisfaction of the work of the DP and the personal participation of Adnan Menderes influenced positively. Participation in the Fatherland Front and the DP took place in the DP as a list of names in the local press. In 1960, there was a significant decline in participation in the Fatherland Front in Uşak, but new quarries continued to open. In this article, the status of Fatherland Front in Uşak, which started its formation process on October 12, 1958 and ended with the military intervention on May 27, is addressed based on the documents we obtained from the Prime Ministry Republic Archive especially considering the telegrams sent to Prime Minister Adnan Menderes about the DP participation in the light of the local press.
