The Most Important Political Body of Roman Republic
Abstract
However Roman State were based on monarchy when it was founded, the Romans needed transition to democracy regime and they preferred the Republic. Roman republic period had been the longest period in Roman political history. Roman government structure had been affected not only for the period of Republic but also in Principatus period. This situation shows us how the Roman government structure under the republic built on a steady foundation. In this period, structure of government changed and tree main bodies had been effective on government: Magistrate, The Senate and The Assembly. A complex constitution gradually developed, centered on the principles of a separation of powers and checks and balances and executive branch had been exercised by magistrates
