Kriminal İncelemelerde Adli Entomoloji: Jandarma Olay Yeri Personeli Arasında Bilgi, Tutum ve Engellerin İncelenmesi

Öz

Adli entomoloji, ölüm sonrası geçen zaman, cesedin yer değiştirmesi ve uyuşturucu ya da zehirlerin varlığı hakkında değerli bilgiler sağlayarak kriminal soruşturmalarda önemli bir rol oynamaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, Türkiye'de Jandarma Genel Komutanlığı'na bağlı Jandarma Kriminal Daire Başkanlığı'ndaki olay yeri personelinin adli entomoloji ile ilgili bilgi, tutum ve engellerini değerlendirmektir. Çalışma için anket 314 kişiye uygulanarak veriler tanımlayıcı istatistikler, faktör analizi, t-testleri ve tek yönlü varyans analizleri kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Sonuçlar, yaş ve eğitim düzeyinin katılımcıların adli entomoloji hakkındaki görüşlerini önemli ölçüde etkilemediğini göstermiştir. Bununla birlikte, 36-45 yaş arası bireyler diğer yaş gruplarına göre değişime daha az direnç göstermiştir. Marmara bölgesinden katılımcılar Akdeniz, Doğu ve Ege bölgelerinden katılımcılara göre daha az bilgi ihtiyacı göstermiştir. Katılımcıların çoğu adli entomolojinin olay yeri incelemelerine entegre edilmesinin potansiyel faydalarını, verimliliğini ve etkinliğini kabul etmiştir. Bununla birlikte, ekipman yeterliliği, entomolojik verilerin analiz edilmesi ve raporlanmasına yönelik prosedürler ve adli entomolojik kanıtların suçlu tespitine yardımcı olma potansiyeli konusunda belirsizlikler tespit edilmiştir. Bu bulgular, Türkiye'de adli entomolojinin uygulanmasını geliştirmek için eğitim, kaynaklar ve teknik araçlarda iyileştirmeler yapılması gerektiğini vurgulamaktadır. Öneriler arasında personelin eğitilmesi, eğitim programlarının düzenlenmesi, olay yeri ekiplerinin gerekli araçlarla donatılması, güncel teknolojinin benimsenmesi, uluslararası iş birliğinin genişletilmesi ve olay yeri incelemelerinde entomolojik örneklerin standartlaştırılması için kılavuzların oluşturulması yer almaktadır.

Forensic Entomology in Criminal Investigations: Examining Knowledge, Attitudes, and Barries Among Gendarmerie Crime Scene Personnel

Öz

Forensic entomology plays a crucial role in criminal investigations by providing valuable insights into the post-mortem interval, body relocation, and presence of drugs or poisons. This study aimed to assess the knowledge, attitudes, and barriers related to forensic entomology among crime scene personnel in the Gendarmerie Criminal Department of the Gendarmerie General Command in Türkiye. A questionnaire was administered to 314 individuals, and the data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, exploratory factor analysis, t-tests, and one-way analyses of variance. The results indicated that age and education level did not significantly influence the participants' opinions on forensic entomology. However, individuals aged 36-45 exhibited lower resistance to change than other age groups. Participants from the Marmara region showed a lower need for information than those from the Mediterranean, Eastern, and Aegean regions. Most participants acknowledged the potential benefits, efficiency, and effectiveness of integrating forensic entomology into crime scene investigations. However, uncertainties were identified regarding the sufficiency of equipment, procedures for analyzing and reporting entomological data, and the potential of forensic entomological evidence to aid in criminal identification. These findings highlight the need for improvements in training, resources, and technical tools to enhance the implementation of forensic entomology in Türkiye. Recommendations include educating personnel, organizing training programs, equipping crime scene teams with the necessary tools, adopting current technology, expanding international collaboration, and establishing guidelines for standardizing entomological samples in crime scene investigations.
