OLD PEOPLE THE VICTIMS OF MIGRATION: CASE OF ERZURUM-OLTUINANMIS VILLAGE

Emigrant villages are abondoned and deserted to the elders with the population movements as working age po-pulaiton's leaving elders in village and returning back when they are old and leave their children there; as a re-sult, old people become alone and needy. In this study, it is aimed to determine elders' problems and help to find solutions with various social policies. This study is a qualitative research to understand the present conditions of Inanmis village of Oltu district of Erzurum province and to detect the problems of old people that is the majority of population.Considering the social structure of the daily life patterns of the old people were examined. With the help of interpretive interactionism and ethnographic approaches participant observation, semi-structured, unstructured interviews was conducted. Some suggestions related to the findings (desolation and neediness) that were become meaningful by interpretation were made.
