EFFECTS OF MAGNETIC FIELD APPLIED TO GASOLINE TO THE EXHAUST EMISSIONS
Abstract
In internal combustion engines, it is very important to improve engine performance parameters, reduce fuel consumption and unwanted exhaust emissions. The reduction of unwanted exhaust gases that harm both the environment and human health generally depends on the formation of a good combustion in the engine. In this study, it has been tried to increase the combustion efficiency and reduce the unwanted exhaust gases by applying a magnetic field to the fuel line of a four-stroke single cylinder gasoline engine. In order to create a magnetic field, neodymium magnets were placed on the fuel line at a magnetic field of 1850 gauss was created in the fuel hose. Magnetic field experiments were carried out separately at engine speeds of 2000, 2500 and 3000 rpm. In the experiments carried out, it was determined that HC, CO and CO2 among the undesired gases at 1850 Gauss and 3000 rpm decreased by 22.06%, 21.2% and 25.9% respectively, and the air-fuel mixture increased by 33.07%.
