A rare complication of lung cancer: Small bowel perforation – case report

Öz

Small bowel perforation caused by metastasis from lung cancer is an extremely rare clinical entity. Metastasis may be seen anywhere in the gastrointestinal tract, and this metastatic focus may cause complications such as perforation, obstruction or massive hemorrhage. Emergency surgery is necessary in these conditions, and this means high mortality and morbidity for those patients with malignant disease. We aimed to present a case with previous lung cancer diagnosis who underwent emergency laparotomy due to clinical manifestation of small bowel perforation.

Akciğer kanserinin nadir bir komplikasyonu: İnce barsak perforasyonu - olgu sunumu

Öz

Akciğer kanser metastazına bağlı ince barsak perforasyonu oldukça nadir görülen bir klinik tablodur. Metastaz gastrointestinal traktusun herhangi bir bölümünde görülebilir ve metastatik odak masif kanama, obstrüksiyon, perforasyon gibi komplikasyolara neden olabilir. Bu durumda acil cerrahi girişim ihtiyacı doğmaktadır ve bu malignitesi olan hastalar için yüksek mortalite ve morbidite anlamına gelir. Biz daha öncesinde akciğer kanseri tanısı bulunan ve ince barsak perforasyonu nedeniyle acil laparotomi uygulanan olgumuzu sunmayı amaçladık.
