Hepatic lipomas are extremely rare lesions. Because these lesions are asymptomatic, they are usually discovered incidentally. There is no risk of malignant degeneration, and because the imaging appearance of lipomas is characteristic, percutaneous biopsy or surgery is usually unnecessary. We present a 52-year-old woman with abdominal pain and hepatic mass (38x30 mm in diameter) compatible with lipoma on ultrasonography and computed tomography.
