R&D in Health Services: A Literature Review

Öz

The aim of this research is to examine the R&D activities in the health sector in Turkey and in the world. The literature review was conducted within Kitchenham's (2004) "systematic literature review" framework. Within the scope of this research, six databases were searched under the titles of "R&D in healthcare" and "sağlık hizmetlerinde Ar-Ge". 27 of the accessed articles were examined according to the content of the study. Health-related R&D studies are generally project-based studies on a specific study subject. There is no model in the literature that will ensure that R&D activities are carried out systematically by cooperating at the national or international level within the research on R&D in health services. This situation causes disorganization and waste of resources in R&D activities for health services. For this reason, it is necessary to establish a network organization at both national and international levels in order to carry out R&D activities in health services.

Sağlık Hizmetlerinde Ar-Ge: Bir Literatür Taraması

Öz

Bu araştırmanın amacı, Türkiye'de ve dünyada sağlık sektöründeki Ar-Ge faaliyetlerini incelemektir. Literatür taraması, Kitchenham'ın (2004) "sistematik literatür taraması" çerçevesinde yapılmıştır. Bu araştırma kapsamında “sağlık hizmetlerinde araştırma ve geliştirme” ve “research and development in healthcare” başlıkları altında altı veri tabanı araştırılmıştır. Ulaşılan makalelerden 27 tanesi çalışma kapsamında incelenmiştir. Sağlıkla ilgili çalışmalarda Ar-Ge genellikle belirli bir çalışma konusu üzerinde proje bazlı çalışmadır. Nadiren birden fazla ülkeyi kapsayan çalışmalar vardır. Mevcut literatürde sağlık hizmetlerinde Ar-Ge araştırmalarında ulusal veya uluslararası düzeyde iş birliği yapılarak Ar-Ge faaliyetlerinin sistemli bir şekilde yürütülmesini sağlayacak bir model bulunmamaktadır. Bu durum sağlık hizmetlerine yönelik Ar-Ge faaliyetlerinde dağınıklığa ve kaynak israfına neden olmaktadır. Bu nedenle sağlık hizmetlerinde Ar-Ge faaliyetlerinin yürütülmesi için hem ulusal hem de uluslararası düzeyde bir ağ organizasyonun oluşturulması gerekmektedir.
