Fatma Aliye Hanım addresses the issues considered as problems for women in the Ottoman society in her novels. These issues are generally marriage, the preference of the spouse, right to divorce and education and working life. Fatma Aliye Hanım discussed these problems through the stories of heroines in her novels. While heroines were described within the scope of the problem, they have tried to be visible in masculine order. Fatma Aliye Hanım placed heroes in a specific point of views in order to make those women and their stories visible. While these single-dimensioned heroes sometimes become the creator of the problematic area for woman, sometimes they act as the guide for women in order to overcome their problems. The worlds and the problems created by heroes are significant in terms of revealing the stories of heroines. The aim of the study was to examine the fiction of heroes in the novels of Fatma Aliye Hanım where women are the main characters and to analyze the meaning at literary text and social level by centralizing the contribution of these fictions to the stories of the women.
