After the victory of the National Struggle, the Republic was declared and an important period of social change was entered with new arrangements in the political, cultural and economic fields. The young state took very important steps, with the desire for change and transformation., especially with regard to the education of the society. Atatürk, the goal of the Turkish Revolution in general; He defined it as removing the institutions that left the Turkish Nation behind for centuries and bringing the Anatolian people to the level of contemporary civilization. Undoubtedly, the most important stage of achieving this goal is progress in terms of education and culture. The Village Institutes have been a very important project that will ensure development by both removing and educating the underdeveloped Anatolian people from the traditional line for long time. Created with the law numbered 3803 and dated April 17, 1940, the village institutes adopted an understanding of education based on producing through learning, and learning through production. The purpose of this study, which will primarily address the understanding of education adopted at institutes; to emphasize the importance of Village Institutes in the Republican era enlightenment process and social, cultural and economic change of the society. Also the institutions and operations of institutions and how they played a role in the change and transformation of society will be discussed.
