The concept of migration is a phenomenon that has always preserved its existence in our lives. While the reasons and types of migration are being studied, a different aspect of migration has entered the literature with the changing security perception after the Cold War. Migration, which is among the new threats revealed by questioning the classical security understanding, has been associated with the security issue in the new period. The securitization concept introduced by the Copenhagen School has also been important in the consolidation of the migration and security relationship. Secured migration has brought negative perceptions with it. Especially the measures taken for security and threat perception create an increasing spiral. In this framework, the study aims to first understand the phenomenon of immigration and to explain the threat perception created by the concept after the Cold War.
