Isolation and Culture of Vascular Smooth Muscle Cells
Abstract
Smooth muscle cells is the major component of the vascular structures such as artery and vein. The main task of these cells is to provide vascular tone by vasoconstriction and vasodilation. The culturing of these cells is important to study smooth muscle cell function and various cardiovascular diseases at cellular levels. The aim of this article was to review current general information on isolation and culture of vascular smooth muscle cells.
