This article focuses on the works of ceramic artists who believe that art can be a tool for social change. The works of Ayumi Horie, Julia Galloway, Amy Snider and Julianna Zwierciadlowska-Rhymer, Courtney Mattison, Özge Tan, Kate MacDowell and Ekrem Coşkun stand out with their responses to climate change. Each aims to engage the audience in dialogue and encourage positive environmental action. Horie began her Democratic Cup series in 2016, bringing together people with different environmental views for discussions in four different Minnesota cities in 2018. Galloway expressed her grief over the decapitation and near-extinction of the Wandering Albatross with classic funeral urns to draw attention to New England’s endangered species. Amy Snider’s objects address discourses on the world’s melting glaciers and the climate crisis that is causing them to crumble. Julianna Zwierciadlowska-Rhymer’s sculptural installations explore society’s relationship with food. She creates works to draw attention to waste and extravagance in the twenty-first century, as well as the treatment of animals and food additives. Özge Tan conveys the negative aspects experienced with the climate crisis through sea creatures. Finally, Ekrem Coşkun draws attention to the damage that global change has caused not only to our nature but also to our cultural values. The artists discussed in the article have a single goal while conveying the reality of the climate crisis to the viewer. Artists who produce their works with the aim and hope of leaving a livable future attract attention with the awareness they create in society. The aim of the study is to explain the reflection of the works produced on the climate crisis on today's ceramic art. The research is aimed to contribute to other artists and works, especially in the field of ceramic art.
