It was Nursi’s principled stand to make the Quran his absolute teacher in his life. The wisdom which he inspired from the events of this time, led him to turn to the Quran, with his heart and soul and seek its guidance. Looking back into our knowledge heritage, we find distinct schools of thought in Quranic research and analysis; one represents the philosophical and theological tendency, while the other stands for the rhetorical and literary approach. Nursi firmly stands in between the two and utilizes the more positive points of both the streams in his methodology. Thus he holds the balance between intellectual and artistic approaches in the analysis of the holy text. His methodology of Quranic interpretations can be put, broadly, into two categories. (1) The structured and comprehensive commentary, where he take into account all aspects of the etymological, grammatical, rhetorical, and contextual as well as the logical and philosophical study of the Quranic texts. This method has been adopted by him in his famous commentary “Ishārāt al-I‘jāz (Signs of Miraculousness)”. (2) In the unstructered method we find him at various levels of engagement with texts. Here he sometimes makes floating references to the holy verses, at other times he dwells on some aspects related to the context. Examples show that he goes very deep in the analysis of verses related to the matters of faith. He combines the Quranic wisdom with the open inspirations from the nature and cosmos. This phenomenon represents his entire works which from the collection of Resile Nur. Some interpretations of Nursi are purely based on the spiritual experiences. But their beauty is that they do not confront with the established notions of the Quran, and there is enough room in the body of the texts to accomodate them. He saw in air a window to divine unity, discovered many secrets of “Bismillah” within the elasticity of textual limits. Thus he opened new horizons to the study of the miraculous text. The significance of Nursi lies in his unique blending of the rational

knowledge with the artistic capability to analyze the holy text and prove the matters of faith in the present cultural and scientific scenorio.


تفوق الأستاذ النورسي في نظرية التفسير البلاغي بما أوتي من منهج رائد وعقل
متوقد فأورد البراهين العقلية واعتمد على القرآن الكريم في الاستدلالات والبراهين
وبسط بالأمثلة من كتاب الكون ليزيد الموضوع اتضاحا وتستطيع العقول استيعابها،
فغذى بذلك القلب والعقل والوجدان والروح والفكر، فلم يهمل القلب بتركيزه على
العقل ولم يغمط العقل حقه بالاهتمام بالروح والقلب، فكان بذلك متوازنا في عرض
الحقائق القرآنية واستطاع عرضها بشكل متكافئ أبرز عن موهبته الفذة في الجمع بين
براهين العقل والقلب.
وقد اختار النورسي الالتزام في منهجه التفسيري ببيان أوجه الإعجاز والنكات
البلاغية، في الوقت الذي لايرى فيه اقتصار الإعجاز في الناحية البلاغية فحسب، بل
يعتبره وجها من وجوه الإعجاز الكثيرة، فهو بذلك لا يمثل النزعة الفلسفية والكلامية
التي تتجلى آثارها في الاهتمام الزائد بالتعريفات والتقاسيم المنطقية دون الاعتناء
الكافي بالشواهد الأدبية، كما لا يمثل أيضا منهج المدرسة الأدبية التي استخدمت
المقاييس الفنية والذوق الأدبي في الدراسة والتحليل.
لقد تأثر الأستاذ بنظرية الإعجاز في النظم التي هي أداة مهمة لإثبات الإعجاز
البياني في القرآن عنده، كما أنها تتصدر قائمة الأولويات المنهجية لديه. ورغم صعوبة
التطبيق العملي لهذه النظرية على النصوص التفسيرية إلا أن الأستاذ سار بخطى وئيدة
وواثقة في كشف أسرار النظم فيما ألفه من كتابه الإشارات.
