The research WRS carried out between 1996-1998 years under Haymana - Ankara dryfarrning
conditions. The aim of the study was to determine some quality coinpenents and grain yield of Gerek-79 bread wheat
variety which is growth under different soil tillage, and with fallow and without fallow. According to obtained results, the
effects of different soil tillage with rototiller or plough were not evident on the quality components of wheat. Some
situation plots of plough and some situation piots of rototiller were shown superior values. Even the, protein content of
wheat after lentil was found higher than the other to rotation ( fallow - wheat, wheat - wheat ) in the both two years. Grain
yield, thousand kernel weight and hectolitre weight in wheat have beerı obtained higher after fallow. Wheat - wheat
rotation system was behind both rotation systems fallow - wheat and lentil - wheat in term of these traits.lt couid be
concluded that according to these results for more suitable and economic seedbed preparation soil tillage with rototiller,
and lentil wheat rotation system among the studied systems might be recommended.
