Rehabilitation program after surgical treatment of meniscus lesions

Abstract

Rehabiliation program depends on whether meniscal surgery is done by open mean or arthroscopically. Preoperative rehabilitation is of utmost importane regardles of the technique. After arthroscopic menisectomy immobilisotion period and rehabilitation period are much shorter than after open menisectomy. Arthroscopic menisectomy is the preferred method of treatment uner suitable conditions because it offers a quicker return to normal and sports activities.
