Use of fibrin glue in the treatment of osteochondral fractures

Abstract

Being a new method in recent years, fibrin glue has been used in the treatment of osteochondral fractures. Following sports injury, a 14 year old male patient has come to our emergency room presenting with traumatic patellar dislocation and osteochondral fracture which was treated by surgery. The osteochondral fracture was tixated by fibrin glue. Having performed a Iate radiological follow-up at 36 months the fracture was noted to be completely united. His sportive activities were going on without any Iimitation and he had no complaints. In this report we aimed giving information about fibrin glue applications and its results.
