Endoscopic release in carpal tunnel syndrome
Abstract
9 patients with carpal tunnel syndrome were treated by endoscopic release of carpal ligament in S.B. Ankara Hospital Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology between September 1991 and December 1991. We used regional intravenos anaesthesia for endoscopic release of carpal ligament in 1 female and 8 male patients. Our average follof up time is 35 days. In all patients the diagnosis was based on clinical exemination and electromyography. The clinical results were excellent in the early posoperative period. We think that endoscopic release of carpal ligament will have an important place in the surgical treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome in the near future.
