Patellectomy (A new reconstruction method and the results of its Iongterm follow-up)

Abstract

In this article a new reconstruction method and the results of its Iongterm follow-up have been discussed. This method is applied after patellectomy performed in 62 years old male patient with a synovial sarcoma on his Ieft patella. The successful, of thismethod indicates that it can be an effective treatment for benign and low-grade malignity of patella which is required patellectomy.

Öz

Makalede, sol patellada lokalize sinovyal sarkomu bulunan, 62 yaşında erkek bir hastada patellektomiyi takiben uygulamış olduğumuz rekonstrüksiyon yöntemi ve uzun süreli takip sonucu bir yöntem olarak sunulup tartışılmıştır. Elde edilen başarılı sonuç neticesinde patellektomi gerektiren benign ve lowgrade malign tümörIerde romboid fasyal greft ile rekonstrüksiyonun diz fonksiyonlarını ve quadriceps gücünü koruma açısından yararlı olabileceği kanısına varılmıştır.
