Evaluation of sensation after digital nerve operations

Abstract

The restoration of sensation in 28 fingers of 16 patients were evafuated after primary neuroraphies of the digital nerves. Threshoid and functional tests were used All of the patients gave positive responses to the vibration sensation tested by two tuning forks, 30 and 256 cycles per second After an average 11 months of foliow up period 37 7% of the patients were found to be at the S3 and S4 levels and 38.9% were at the S2 level. Age of the patient was found to be the most important prognostic factor and younger patients had good resto ration of sensation. There was significant correlation between the monofilament test and moving and statıc two point discrimination tests.

Dijital sinir kesisi nedeniyle ameliyat edilmiş olgularda duyu değerlendirilmesi

Öz

Dijital sinir kesisi nedeniyle primer nörorafi yapılmış 16 hastaya ait 28 parmak duyu iyileşmesi yönünden eşik ve tonksiyonel testlerle değerlendirildi. Hastaların tümü 30 ve 256 Hz.lik diapozonla bakılan vibrasyon duyusuna pozitif yanıt verdi. Ortalama 11 aylık takip süresi sonunda hastaların %37.7'si S3 ve S4 seviyelerinde, %38.9'u ise S2 seviyesindeydi. Hasta yaşının prognozu etkileyen faktörler içinde en önemlisi olduğu ve daha genç yaştakilerde duyu seviyesinin daha iyi olduğu görüldü. Monofilaman testi ile hareketli ve sabit iki nokta ayınm testleri arasında anlamlı korrelasyon olduğu bulundu.
