Hereditary multiple exostosis and ulnar lengthening

In this study, we evaluated the clinical and radiologic findings of 5 patients with hereditary multiple exostosis who were admitted to Orthopedics and Traumatology Clinics of Taksim State Hospital and Gelibolu Military Hospital. Patients have multiple exostosis in various distribution. Three of them had forearm deformities characterised by ulaar shortening and bowing of radius with multiple exostoses. We performed excision of exostosis in all patients. In one case, we also performed ulnar lengthening and epiphysiodesis by radial hemiepiphyseal stapling, due to ulrar shorthening and increased radial anticular angle. The characteristic pathologic lesions and treatment modalities were assessed according to published papers and our expenences.

Herediter multipl ekzostoz ve ulnar uzatma

Taksim Hastanesi Ortopedi ve Travmatoloji Kliniği’nde ve Gelibolu Asker Hastanesi'nde görülen herediter multipl ekzostozlu beş hasta klinik ve radyolojik yönleriyle değerlendirildi. Bu hastaların üçünde çeşitli yerlerde çok sayıda ekzostoz yanında ulnar kısalık, radius kemiğinde eğilme ile karakterize ön kol deformiteleri mevcuttu. Bu hastalarda ekzostozların eksizyonuyla birlikte bir hastanın önkolunda göreceli ulna kısalığı ve radius eklem açısıdan artış nedeniyle, ulnar uzatma ve radial hemiepifizyal stapling yöntemiyle epifizyodez yaptık. Bu hastalardaki patolojileri ve tedavi yöntemlerini deneylerimizin ve literatur bilgileri ışığında değerlendirdik.
