Morphometric anatomy of the acromion and the coracoacromial arch

Abstract

Prior to this study which the role of acromion and the acromioclavicular arch in the etiology of shoulder impingement syndrome is to be investigated, it is found that inferior part of the anterior third of acromion and acromioclavicular Iigament are said to be responsible in different series. But in this study, we thought that the Iocation of coracoacromial ligament is more important than the size of the arch. We believe that shoulders having the values similar to that of our series are prone to impingement syndrome. In addition, measurements were performed on glenoid cavity to be used as a reference for implantation of shoulder prosthesis in the future.
