The Judet quadricepsplasty

Abstract

Five patients with posttravmatic knee extansion contractures were followed for 33.6 (19-51) months after Judet quadricepsplasty. The average age of the patients was 36.2 years (26-50). At the final follow-up average knee flexion was 99° (45-120°) degrees. None of our patients showed neither extension lag nor wound problem. There were three excellent (60%), one good (20%), one poor (20%) results according to the Judet classification. The patients who had poor result had tibia fracture during the manipulation at the surgery and active range of motion was from 0 to 45 degrees. We are in the opinion that the judet quadricepsplasty is an effective and confidental technique in the treatment of limited knee flexion due to posttravmatic extension contractures.

Öz

Posttravmatik diz ekstansiyon kontraktürlü 5 olgu, Judet kuadrisepsplastisi tekniğine uygun olarak ameliyat edildi. Olguların ortalama yaşı 36.2 yıl (26-50) ve ameliyat sonrası izleme süresi ortalama 33.6 ay (19 ay-51 ay) idi. Olgularımızda, ameliyat sonrası son kontrollerinde diz fleksiyonu ortalama 99° (45-120°) olarak saptandı. Diz hareket açıklığı 0-45' olan hastamızda ameliyat sırasında manipülasyonda tibia kırığı oluştu ve sorunsuz iyileşti. Hiç bir hastada ekstansiyon kaybı ve yara sorunu gelişmedi. Olgular son kontrollerinde Judet sınıflamasına göre; 3'ü (%60) çok iyi, 1'i (%20) iyi, 1'i ise (%20) kötü olarak değerlendirildi. Posttravmatik ekstansiyon kontraktürüne bağlı fleksiyon kısıtlılığının giderilmesinde Judet kuadrisepsplastisinin etkin ve güveni-lir bir yöntem olduğu kanısına varıldı.
