The evaluation of concomitant open reduction and innominate osteotomy in the treatment of congenital dislocation of the hip

Öz

Forty eight hips of 34 patients who underwent concomitant open reduction and innominate osteotomy for the treatment of congenital dislocation of the hip were evaluated radiologically and clinically. The study group consisted of 31 (91.1%) girls and 3 (8.9%) boys. The mean age was 24 (17-56) months and the average follow-up period was 4.3 (2.9-7) years. The rate of excellent and good results radiologically and clinically were 83.3% and 87.3% respectively. We established avascular necrosis of 4 (8.3%) Grade I and 4 (8.3%) Grade IV in our patients. We are of the opinion that concomitant open reduction and innominate osteotomy in the treatment of congenital dislocation and subluxation of the hip with acetabular displasia contribute to stability of the hip and normal development of the acetabulum.
