Humerus cisim kırıklarının Sarmiento fonksiyonel breys ile tedavisi

Öz

Bu çalışmamızda humerus cisim kırıklı 14 hastayı (11 erkek, 3 kadın) polipropilenden yapılmış Sarmientonun fonksiyonel breysi ile tedavi ettik. Uyguladığımız bu breysler her hasta için modeli alınarak yaptırıldı. Kay-nama süresi en erken 2.0 en geç 7.5 ay olup ortalama 3.5 aydı. Hiçbir hastamızda kaynamama komplikasyonu ile karşılaşmadık. Hastalarımızın omuz ve dirsek eklemlerindeki hareket kayıp oranı çok azdı ve fonksiyonel sonuçlarımızı Hunter kriterlerine göre değerlendirdik. Başlangıç varus acılanma ortalaması 18.5°, son varus acılanma ortalaması ise 5.5° olarak bulundu. Eğer kırık iyileşmesinin sonunda fonksiyonel aktivitenin hemen kazanılmasını amaçlıyorsak, humerus cisim kırıklarının tedavisinde fonksiyonel breys uygulanması etkili bir te-davi yöntemidir.

Öz

In the present study we treated 14 patients (11 male, 3 female) who had humeral shaft fractures with Sarmiento functional brace. We applied all braces as custom made for each patient. Minimum healing time was 2 months, maximum healing time was 7.5 months and an average healing time was 3.5 months. Limitation of range of movement (ROM) in shoulder and elbow articulations was minimal and we evaluated the functional results by using Hunter criteria. Average varus angulation before treatment was 18.5¡ and 5.5¡ after treatment. We believe that if it is necessary to get early functional activity, functional bracing of humeral shaft fractures is an efficient and reasonable treatment method.
