Melorheostosis (a case report)

Abstract

Melorheostosis is a rare disease that etiology is not known. The disorder is congenital, affecting not only bone, but also other tissues of mesodermal origin. Pain and angular deformities are the main symptoms. There is no specific treatment. Management is symptomatic. We presented a one patient of melorheostosis that is unilateral and whole lower extremity is affected. We also described the differential diagnosis of melorheostosis with osteopathia striata and osteopoikilosis.
