Çocukta akut patella osteomiyeliti (olgu sunumu)

Öz

Erişkinlere oranla çocuklarda patella osteomiyeliti oldukça nadirdir. Nadir görülmesinin yanısıra, semp-tomların yavaş gelişiminden ötürü tam aşamasında da yanılgıya düşülebilir. Bu yazıda 6 yaşında erkek çocuk hastada karşılaşılan akut patella osteomiyeliti, çeşitli görüntüleme yöntemleriyle elde edilen radyolojik özellikleriyle ve tedavi sonuçlarıyla birlikte sunulmaktadır. Genel osteomiyelit tedavi ilkelerine uygun medikal ve cerrahi tedaviyle çok iyi sonuç aldık. Diz önünde ağrı ve selülit tarzı bir tablo ile başvuran çocuklarda şüpheci davranılmalı ve patella osteomiyeliti akla getirilmelidir. Erken tam ve uygun tedavi iyi sonuç vermektedir.

Acute osteomyelitis of the patella in a child (case report)

Abstract

Acute osteomyelitis of the patella is rarely seen in pediatric population compared to adults. False or delayed diagnosis is possible because of the mild onset of symptoms at presentation. Here we present a six year old boy with acute osteomyelitis of the patella. The pathologic process was very well documented by plain radiographs, CT and MRI and recovery was very quick and uneventful after medical and surgical treatment which should adhere to the general principles of treatment for bone and joint infections. Osteomyelitis of the patella should be considered as a probable cause when a child presents with anterior knee pain and inflammation. Early diagnosis and proper management would give good results.
