Avulsion fracture of the olecranon for the diagnosis of osteogenesis imperfecta (case report)

Öz

Avulsion fractures of olecranon in children are very rare and often associated with osteogenesis imperfecta. In this study we report a child who has been followed for constitutional growth retardation for five years. Osteogenesis imperfecta has been diagnosed after bilateral avulsion fractures of olecranon. Fractures were treated by tension band wiring and healed without any sequel.

Öz

Çocuklarda olekranon kopma kırıkları çok ender olup sıklıkla osteogenesis imperfecta ile ilişkilidir. Bu çalışmada beş yıldır yapısal gelişme genliği olduğu düşünülerek izlenen bir çocukta, iki taraflı olekranon kopma kırığı sonrası osteogenesis imperfecta tanısı konulmuştur. Her iki kırık germe bandı yöntemi ile tespit edildi ve sorunsuz olarak iyileşti.
