Metatarsal tuberculosis (case report)

Abstract

The tuberculosis infection, continues to occur frequently in our country and in some underdeveloped regions on the world. Bone and joint tuberculosis is less common than the pulmonary form. Tuberculosis infection rarely occurs in metatars. In this paper, a patient with a tuberculosis infection that occurs in metatars is presented. In this case; soft tissue swelling, bone expansion, cortical thinning and multiple radiolucencies in medulla of the fourth metatars are radiologically detected. After the curettage, antituberculosis therapy for a year has resulted in clinical and radiological healing.

Metatarsal tüberküloz (Olgu Sunumu)

Öz

Tüberküloz enfeksiyonu ülkemizde ve dünyadaki bazı az gelişmiş bölgelerde sık olarak ortaya çıkmaya devam etmektedir. Kemik ve eklem tüberkülozu akciğer tüberkülozuna göre daha az sıklıkta görülür. Tüberküloz enfeksiyonunun metatarsta yerleşmesi nadirdir. Bu makalede metatarsal yerleşim gösteren bir tüberküloz olgusu sunulmuştur. Olgumuzda radyolojik olarak; yumuşak dokuda şişlik, metatarsta kalınlaşma, kortekste incelme ve medullada multipl radyolusen lezyonlar mevcuttu. Küretajı takiben uygulanan antitüberküloz tedavi ile bir yıllık süre sonunda, olgumuzda klinik ve radyolojik iyileşme canlanmıştır.
