Aneurysmal bone cyst

Abstract

Thirty casos of Aneurysmal bone cyst, discussed of the meetings of The Bone Tumors Registration Center of Turkish Oncology Society, were reviewed. The ages ranged from 3 to 47 years, and 20 of the patients were male. Twenty-five of the lesions were found in the long bones 8 in femur, 7 in humerus, 3 in tibia, 2 in ulna, 1 in radius. Radiologic examinations reveated periostal reactions in five cases. Two of the cases showed diaphyseal location (humerus and tibia). Most of the patients were treated by surgical methods, and two patients were treated by radiotheropy. We have seen recurrences only in three cases treated by surgical methods. We applied the name Aneurysmal bone tumor due to the spesific behaviour of these lesions.

ANEVRiZMAL KEMİK KİSTİ (ANEVRİZMAL KEMİK TÜMÖRÜ)

Öz

Onkoloji (Tümör Bilimi) Derneği Kemik Tümörleri ReJistrasyon Merkezi'ne gelen 30 Anevrizmal kemik kisti olgusu incelendi. Klinik, radyoloji, tedavi ve patoloji açısından incelenen bu olgularda literatürden farklı ilginç veriler saptandı. Olgularımızın 2/3 ünün erkeklerde bulunması, 7 olgudaki periost reaksiyonları, tedavi sonuçları ve lezyon ile epifiz kıkırdağı arasındaki ilginç ilişki konusunda elde ettiğimiz veriler literatüre katkı olabilecek nitelikte idi. Şimdiye dek anevrizmal kemik kisti olarak tanımlanan bu oluşumun davranışları nedeniyle bir tümör olduğu ve Anevrizmal kemik tümörü olarak adlandırılmasının uygun olacağı kanısına varıldı.
