The hip arthroscopy for diagnosis and surgical treatment

In the last decade developments in arthroscopy with the help of new technologies has brought orthopedic surgery a new dimension. In this paper we represent hip arthroscopies performed for diagnosis and treatment of different alignments. Hip arthroscopy was performed on 11 patients betwen 1988-1990 at Ankara University Medical Faculty, Ibn-I Sina Hospital, Department of Orthopedic Surgery, and Traumatology. 6 male and 5 female patients with an average age of 25.4 (range 14-43) was our cases. lndications for arthroscopy were surgical planning to diagnostic reasons. The guidelines of Eriksson and Glick were followed in hip arthroscopy technique. Arthroscopy was used as an aid to clinical diagnosis especially in patients without a solid diagnosis Arthroscopic surgery will also save time and large dissections in some patients.

Öz

Son yıllarda artroskopinin diz eklemi dışındaki uygulamaları ortopedik cerrahiye yeni boyutlar getirdi. Çalışmamız; Anabilim Dalımızda tanı ve cerrahi amacıyla uygulanan kalça artroskopileri konusundaki ilk deneyimlerimizi içermektedir. 1988-1990 yılları arasında Ankara Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi İbn-i Sina Hastanesi Ortopedi ve Travmatoloji Ana bilim Dalında 11 olguya günümüz teknikleri doğrultusunda kalça artroskopisi uygulanmıştır. Olgularımızın 6'sı erkek 5'i kadındır. Ortalama yaş 25.4'dür (14-43). Artroskopik teknik olarak Eriksson ue Glick'in önerdikleri yöntemlerin kombinasyonu kullanılmıştır. Kalça artroskopileri rutin tanı yöntemleri ile sonuca ulaşılamayan hasta popülasyonuna yeni bir çözüm getirmektedir. Artroskopiyle birlikte gelen transartroskopik girişim olanağı ise kalçadaki geniş diseksiyonları önleyici olmaktadır.
