Intraosseous schwannoma (case report and review of the literature)

Öz

Intraosseous schwannoma is one of the rare primary bone tumors frequently involving mandibula and sacrum. In this case report a patient with an intraosseous schwannoma in 1/3 distal portion of tibia is presented. The tumor was surgically removed and recurrence was not observed in postoperative follow up period of one year. It was concluded that intraosseous schwannoma may present with atypical locations.

Öz

İntraosseos schwannoma nadir görülen, genellikle mandibula ve sakrumu tutan primer benign kemik tümörlerinden biridir. Buradaki olgu sunumunda tibia 1/3 distal ucunda intraosseos schwannoma olduğu saptanan bir hasta incelenmektedir. Tümör cerrahi otarak çıkarılmış ve cerrahi sonrası 1 yıllık izlem süresi içinde nüks gözlenmemiştir. İntraosseos schwannomanın atipik yerleşim gösterebilen bir tümör olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır.
