10 years experience with Salter's innominate osteotomy and results

Öz

In this paper 56 Salter operations performed on 51 patients at Ortopedics and Traumatology Clinic of İstanbul Faculty of Medicine between 1965-1974 were studied. Indications for this operation and the results were evaluated with critical analysis of the failures. It is emphasized that, derotational osteotomy of the femur should be performed in the case of severe anteversion. It is conduded that meticulous application of the original teehnic leads to good results.

Öz

Bu çalışmada İstanbul Tıp Fakültesi Ortopedi ve Travmatoloji Kliniğinde 1965-1974 yılları arasında 51 hasta üzerinde yapılmış 56 Şalter ameliyatı çeşitli yönleri ile ele alınmıştır. Bu uygulamanın yıllara göre dağılımı yapılmış, ameliyat endikasyonları ile sayıdaki azlığın nedenleri üzerinde durulmuştur. Alınan sonuçlar eleştirilmiş, komplikasyonların nedenleri araştırılmış, aşırı anteversiyon olan vakalarda derotasyon osteotomisi yapılmasının gerekli olduğu belirtilmiştir. Şal;ter osteotomisinin iyi seçilmiş vakalarda tekniğine uygun olarak uygu;landığı takdirde başarılı olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır.
